=> The notification for B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree programme at RIVER for the academic year 2019-20 will be issued during the months of April-May, 2019

=> The process of admission (through the Centralised admission committee, Govt. of Puducherry) will take place during the months of June-July, 2019.

=> The commencement of classes for the first year of B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree programme will be during the months of August or September, 2019.

However, for reference purpose, the admission details pertaining to the academic year 2018-19 are provided below.

 

Programme of Study

 
The institute has adopted Veterinary council of India (VCI) regulations and curricula since its inception for the 5 ½ (Five and half) years Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree programme and the degree is recognized by the VCI. The College is affiliated to the Pondicherry University.

B.V.Sc. & A.H.
degree programme of study is an annual system of education spread over 5 ½ complete professional years including a compulsory internship of one year undertaken after the successful completion of all credits as prescribed in the syllabus. The education curriculum is challenging and enterprising with six-day working week. The institute imparts quality and high standards of veterinary education.
 
Eligibility for admission
A pass in higher secondary or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Biology/Botany & Zoology, Physics and Chemistry (40% for OBC/MBC/BCM/EBC/BT/SC).
 
Age Limit
The lower age limit is 17 years as on Dec. 31 during the year of admission and the upper age limit is 25 years as on Dec. 31 during the year of admission. The upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for OBC/MBC/BCM/EBC/BT/SC.
 
Disability
A candidate shall not be allowed for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H degree, if he/she suffers disabilities in Physical Fitness as mentioned in the Veterinary Council of India Regulation, 2016 and listed below: (a) Disability of total body including disability of the chest/spine more than 50% (b) Disability of lower limb more than 50% (c) Disability of upper limb (d) Visually handicapped candidates and those with hearing disability (e) Candidates with progressive diseases like myopathies etc. (f) Disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of the duties of a veterinarian   The disability should be certified by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board comprising of at least three specialists out of which two should be of the specialty concerned and the candidate has to present himself/herself before the Medical Board. The last valid Disability Certificate of the candidate from a Medical Board should not be more than three months old from the date of submitting his/her certificate as a disabled candidate.

Admission Procedure

 

1. Domicils of UT of Puducherry (Government Quota)
 
There are 30 seats available for the candidates belonging to Union Territory of Puducherry seeking admission under this category to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college. Candidates shall apply online to the Centralized Admission Committee CENTAC at http://www.centacpuducherry.in After obtaining the Provisional allotment order from CENTAC, the candidates should report at RIVER for admission before the date specified in the allotment order.
 
Selection of candidates under this category is from the merit list drawn based on the marks obtained in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in the qualifying examination. The usual reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of Puducherry will be followed.

 

2. Self Financing Category Candidates (UT of Puducherry)
 
There are 10 seats available for the candidates belonging to Union Territory of Puducherry seeking admission under this category to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college. Candidates shall apply online to the Centralized Admission Committee CENTAC at http://www.centacpuducherry.in After obtaining the Provisional allotment order from CENTAC, the candidates should report at RIVER for admission before the date specified in the allotment order.
 
Selection of candidates under this category is from the merit list drawn based on the marks obtained in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in the qualifying examination. The usual reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of Puducherry will be followed.  

 

3. Veterinary Council of India Quota (All India Quota (15%)
 
There are 12 seats available for the candidates seeking admission under this category to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college. Candidates shall apply online to the Veterinary Council of India to http://aipvt.vci.nic.in/ After obtaining the Provisional allotment order from CENTAC, the candidates should report at RIVER for admission before the date specified in the allotment order.

There are 5 seats available for the candidates belonging to Goa seeking admission under this category to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college. Candidates shall apply to the Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Goa. Selection of candidates will be done by the Government of Goa. Selected candidates should report to RIVER for admission.

 

5. Candidates from Nagaland
 
There are 5 seats available for the candidates belonging to Nagaland seeking admission under this category to the first year B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course offered by this college. Candidates shall apply to the Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Nagaland. Selection of candidates will be done by the Government of Nagaland. In the event of an admitted student leaving the course, the following refund of fee policy will be followed.
